Lubov Tsurikova has a PhD in Theoretical Linguistics from Voronezh
State University in Voronezh, Russia, where she has been employed in the
Romance and Germanic Philology Department since 1986. In addition to teaching
English language and conducting student research in cross-cultural pragmatics,
she specialises in teaching General Linguistics, Sociolinguistics and Pragmatic
Aspects of Interpreting and Translation. Dr Tsurikova has also taught Russian
as a Foreign Language and Interpreting and Translating at John Moors University,
Liverpool, England, and Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, and
spent a semester in the University of Arizona, USA, as a RSEP-ACTR Research
Fellow. She has published articles in Revista de lenguas para fines especificos
and national linguistic journals, and has been a speaker at various international
and national linguistic conferences and TESOL meetings. Her specific field
of study is cross-cultural pragmatics and her current research deals with
sociopragmatic and cognitive aspects of cross-cultural communication. |
